RESTORATION

Before – Restoring Plane Castle

By the early 1990’s the castle was in total ruins and in danger of collapse. Much of the tower walls were crumbling and part of the top story had already fallen away. Weather and vandalism were taking its toll and this once magnificent building was destined to be a pile of rubble and a forgotten memory lost to future generations.

After – Restoring Plane Castle

Plane Castle was bought by John Patrick Wright and his wife Nancy in 1991 as a crumbling ruin. Over the next 6 years John and his family rebuilt and restored the Tower, Manor House and Guards cottage. They also landscaped the gardens and built the courtyard returning Plane Castle back to the impressive and grand building steeped in history that you see today.
